SAI offers a complimentary range of starter generators in support of many different amperage classes from 150 Amp to 400 Amp. The SAI-APC starter generator Line was designed for the starting of turbine engines and APU’s. The starter generator is used as an engine-driven source of DC power and is normally rated at 28-30 volts with a continuous load of 150-400 Amps over a speed range of 6,900 – 12,000 RPM depending on the requirements. SAI has focused on product reliability in order to offer extended Time Between Overhaul (TBO) intervals to our customers through the improvement of brush and bearing life as well as cooling optimization. These starter generators can be found on many commercial business jets and helicopters as well as UAV’s and regional jets supporting the main engines and APU’s.

 DC BRUSHLESS STARTER GENERATOR

SAI has developed a brushless starter generator that is in testing and will be offered in a variety of amperage classes. SAI is in development testing on a DC brushless starter generator as an engine-driven source of DC power rated at 28-30 volts with a continuous load of 150-400 Amps over a speed range of 6,900 – 12,000 RPM. The SAI brushless starter generator is a rugged design construction with improved durability and reliability over traditional brush starter generators.  Reliability is improved through the elimination of brushes and the mechanical commutator as life limiting elements which improves the TBO. Advantages of the brushless starter generator include increased efficiency and reliability, reduced noise, longer life as there is no brush erosion, elimination of sparks from the commutator, and a smaller more compact unit that offers more power and overall reduction of electromagnetic interference (EMI).

SAI is developing an AC Generator for windshield de-icing. SAI is in development testing on an AC Generator with voltage rating of 208VAC, 3 Phase, 220-429 Hz with speeds from 6,600 to 12,800 RPM.  The SAI AC Generator uses high temperature Class H Varnish, krytox bearing lubrication and Abec Class 5 bearings. This is a rugged design meant to withstand high vibration conditions.  Typical applications include windshield de-icing.

SAI produces a wide range of brush DC electric motors with voltage ratings of 5-270VDC.  Output power ranges from 1/1000 to 30 HP with speeds up to 30,000 RPM. SAI produces a wide range of brush DC electric motors with voltage ratings of 5-270VDC.  Output power ranges from 1/1000 to 30 HP with speeds up to 30,000 RPM.  Our brush DC Motors are permanent magnet designs and have many available options including but not limited to gear heads, braking systems, and cooling fans. Common applications are actuators, pumps, gun feeders, turret drives, engine starters, power drive units, cargo loading, radars, canopy ejection and environmental cooling.  Our motors can be found on many commercial transport aircraft, regional jets, business jets and military aircraft and vehicles.

Output power ranges from 1/1000 to 50 HP with speeds up to 30,000 RPM. SAI produces a wide range of brushless DC electric motors with voltage ratings of 5-270VDC.  Output power ranges from 1/1000 to 50 HP with speeds up to 30,000 RPM. Our brushless DC motors are permanent magnet designs and have many available options including but not limited to gear heads, braking systems, and cooling fans. Common applications are pumps, turret drives, and weapons ejection.Our motors can be found on many commercial transport aircraft, regional jets, business jets and military aircraft and vehicles.

SAI produces a wide range of AC induction electric motors with voltage ratings of 5-480VAC.  Output power ranges from 1/1000 to 40 HP with frequency of 25-2000 Hz. SAI produces a wide range of AC induction electric motors with voltage ratings of 5-480VAC.  Output power ranges from 1/1000 to 40 HP with frequency of 25-2000 Hz.  We offer motors that are inverter driven, Fan Cooled, explosion proof, and can include gear heads and braking systems. Common applications are actuators, pumps, power drive units, gun feeders, seat actuators and environmental cooling.  Our motors can be found on many commercial transport aircraft, regional jets, business jets and military aircraft and vehicles.

.: FRAMELESS STATORS & ROTORS

SAI produces a wide range of frameless motors known as Fields (Stators) and Rotors. Output power ranges from 1/1000 to 40 HP with speeds up to 30,000 RPM. SAI produces a wide range of frameless motors otherwise known as Fields (Stators) and Rotors. Output power ranges from 1/1000 to 40 HP with speeds up to 30,000 RPM. This option is for customers who prefer or need to package our motors in their system. Common applications are pumps, compressors, and environmental cooling. Our motors can be found on many commercial transport aircraft, regional jets, business jets and military helicopters.

.: SAI TRANSDUCERS

SAI produces a wide range of speed pickup transducers consisting of compact, low weight, highly reliable transducers in various configurations to support a variety of commercial and military platforms. Our transducers are made primarily out of stainless steel and are hermetically sealed by TIG Welding or High Temperature Brazing. Applications include Aircraft Engine Propulsion and APU Computerized Signals for Instrumentation, Fuel Control, Wheel Speed, and others.  Our transducers can be found on many commercial transport, regional jets, business jets and military helicopters.
